WATCH: Veterans Day video message and Military Appreciation Week events

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — On Veterans Day, Penn State President Neeli Bendapudi shares a message of gratitude with the military community, including many Penn State staff, faculty, students and alumni.

“On behalf of the entire Penn State community, today and always, thank you to all veterans, service members, and military families for your extraordinary service to our country,” Bendapudi said. 

As part of the the University's weeklong Military Appreciation Week (MAW) programming, which recognizes Medal of Honor recipients, Penn Staters and the local community are invited to attend today’s (Nov. 11) events, including: 

  • Veterans Day Breakfast from 9-10:45 a.m. in Heritage Hall in the HUB-Robeson Center at University Park. Students, faculty and staff who currently serve or have served in the armed forces are invited to attend the breakfast, sponsored by the Vet-aLIONce Employee Resource Group, which will feature light refreshments, entertainment and networking. Registration is still open and walk-ins are welcome!

  • Nov. 12: Pour Paints and Poppies (6-8 p.m. at Woskob Family Gallery) 

  • Nov. 13: Military Appreciation Luncheon (noon at the Hintz Family Alumni Center) 

  • Nov. 13: Trivia night (6 p.m. at at Antifragile Brewing Company) 

  • Nov. 16: Women’s volleyball match vs. Ohio State (2 p.m. at Rec Hall)
