UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Numerous awards and opportunities for recognition are available at Penn State through units, departments and University-wide initiatives. Through a new website from Penn State Human Resources, staff and faculty can view available opportunities to nominate and celebrate colleagues.
Awards celebrate Penn Staters for contributions across a variety of categories, from research and teaching excellence to mentorship and positive impacts in the workplace.
“Penn State faculty and staff are excellent at what they do, whether that’s working directly with students or providing support behind the scenes. Through these awards, we can showcase those who go above and beyond to make our University special,” said Jennifer Wilkes, vice president for human resources and chief human resources officer.
The new website lists University-wide awards administered by various units, allowing visitors to the site to quickly and easily explore available award opportunities. Awards are available for both staff and faculty and cover a variety of focus areas or specialties.
Nomination criteria, processes and deadlines for each award vary and are maintained by the award administrator. Employees are encouraged to review the listings at awardsrecognition.psu.edu and consider nominating colleagues for recognition where appropriate.
The site also includes links to Penn State’s Years of Service Recognition program, which recognizes employee milestones, and the “We Are!” shoutout series on Penn State Today, where people can nominate faculty and staff for their efforts to go the extra mile.
“Awards are just one of the many ways we can all celebrate the hard work of our coworkers and colleagues,” Wilkes said. “It’s important to recognize that our University wouldn’t be the same without those who keep it running and excel in their fields, whatever that may be.”
Additional opportunities for recognition may be available on a unit, college or campus-specific basis.
