UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — In her latest blog post in Forbes, Penn State President Neeli Bendapudi addresses the importance of skills many of us may take for granted.
Foundational skills, or “soft skills,” such as reading comprehension, the ability to work in teams, empathy and communication, are innately part of what makes us human.
In her post, President Bendapudi outlines why employers are seeking out people who can use their human abilities to work alongside technology, and how universities like Penn State are offering students opportunities to grow their soft skills through work experiences, extra-curricular programs and high-impact practices while they pursue their degree.
