UNIVERSITY PARK – The University Faculty Senate passed a slew of legislation during its March 31 meeting. The updates, which included revisions to policies on deferred grades, corrected grades, cumulative grade-point average requirements, academic renewals, online student progress reports, final examinations, and more, were mostly related to senate’s comprehensive effort to evaluate the University’s grades and grade-related policies.
The senate also passed slates of nominees for election to the leadership positions of chair-elect and secretary of the senate, as well as to the Faculty Advisory Committee to the President and the following committees: Faculty Rights and Responsibilities, University Promotion and Tenure Review and the Standing Joint Committee on Tenure.
Updates were also made to the senate’s constitution pertaining to membership. Part of those revisions included the addition of a voting member selected by the University Staff Advisory Council (USAC).
The meeting agenda, and all associated materials, including a meeting recording, are available through the senate website.
