UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The second part of the Workstream 4 report, “Academic Portfolio Review – Interviews Analysis” from the Academic Portfolio and Program Review (APPR) committee is now available to the Penn State community. This report, prepared by Hanover Research, provides information from interviews conducted at six institutions with comparable academic portfolios that have a program review process. The findings in this report will be used to develop an institutional process for portfolio and program review at Penn State.
The report provides recommendations and key findings about the steps of program reviews, best practices, who should be involved, what points are challenging, what are the primary goals and outcomes, and how institutions evaluate the process internally. This is a high-level overview that serves as a tool that with other data and information will inform a future university-level process for ongoing program and portfolio reviews.
