UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The 2026 Values, Ethics and Compliance training will soon be available as part of Penn State’s compliance education plan. All employees, both full and part time, as well as graduate assistants and fellows, must complete this annual training by 11:59 p.m. on April 24.

An assignment email will be sent to anyone required to take the training through the University's Learning Resource Network (LRN).

The training aims to provide employees with practical insights applicable to their daily tasks, aligning with the Penn State Values. This year’s training will cover the core expectations that guide our conduct and the resources available to all employees, with a particular emphasis on our responsibility to report wrongdoing to help maintain a safe, inclusive and respectful campus environment.

Required for all employees

All employees, both full-time and part-time, are required to take this training. Anyone who does not receive an assignment email and believes they are required to take this training should reach out to the Office of Ethics and Compliance for further information.

Employees who have not completed the training will continue to receive reminder notifications to finish the training before the April deadline. Multiple reminders will be sent and supervisors will be copied on these notifications, so they remain aware of the individual employee’s status.

Annual Salary Increase–eligible employees

If you are an Annual Salary Increase (ASI)–eligible employee, please note the following:

  • To remain fully eligible for an ASI, you must complete the training by April 24, 2026.
  • If you complete the training between April 25 and May 15, your ASI will be delayed by six months.
  • If the training is not completed by 11:59 p.m. on May 15, 2026, you will not be eligible for an ASI.

Employees who are not eligible for ASI, as provided in policy HR43, are still required to complete this training by the stated deadline. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action.
