NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. — Courtney Cole, assistant teaching professor of engineering at Penn State New Kensington, recently attended the United States Air Force Recruiting Services Officer Accession Educator Tour, a program designed to give educators an in-depth view of opportunities with the Air Force and Space Force.

The tour, held March 9-13 at Nellis Air Force Base and Creech Air Force Base near Las Vegas, Nevada, focused on the Air Force’s support for education, professional development, leadership training and careers in medicine, engineering and other technical fields.

Participants attended mission briefings, interacted with airmen and airwomen, and explored the technology used across Air Force operations. Educators in the engineering division had hands-on experience with flight simulators and construction equipment.

Cole, who serves as an honorary recruiter and a point of contact for students interested in Air Force opportunities, said the program highlighted ways the military supports professional growth and education.
