Health Policy and Administration faculty member promoted to full professor

Jeah Jung has been promoted to professor within the Department of Health Policy and Administration (HPA) at Penn State, effective July 1.

“This promotion is a recognition of Jeah’s significant contributions to our students, our department, and to health services research,” said Chris Hollenbeak, professor and head of the department. “Jeah is a pillar in the Health Policy and Administration at Penn State and in the profession.”

Jung’s research focuses on how economic incentives affect consumer and provider health care decisions, and explores the impacts of policy and insurance design on access, quality, and efficiency of health care. Much of her work has contributed to an understanding of quality information, prescription drugs, and the structure of markets and health care delivery systems.

Recently, she was selected to serve as a member of the Health Services Organization and Delivery (HSOD) Study Section at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Center for Scientific Review through June 2025. Her contributions to the field and the University demonstrate how HPA faculty are supporting the department’s vision of a vibrant academic community, nationally recognized for its capacity to produce innovative ideas and develop effective leaders working to improve the interface between individuals and the policy, finance and delivery systems that influence health and well-being.

Jung joined the department in 2007 as an assistant professor. She earned her doctoral degree in health policy with a concentration in health economics from the University of Minnesota, and her master of public health in health policy and economics from Seoul National University in Seoul, Korea.
