Full-time faculty invited to apply for the Spring 2026 Faculty Writing Program

Applications are now open through Dec. 19

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State faculty are invited to apply for the Spring 2026 Faculty Writing Program, sponsored by the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research and the Office of Faculty Affairs, and administered through the Center for Faculty Development and Advancement (CFDA). Applications are now open, with virtual writing groups available to faculty across the Commonwealth Campuses and University Park, as well as an in-person group at University Park.

The Faculty Writing Program provides structured, accountability-focused writing groups designed to support scholarly productivity. Now in its third year, the program offers dedicated writing time, community support and evidence-based strategies for developing sustainable writing practices.

Participants meet weekly for three-hour sessions. Each session begins with a brief discussion led by a faculty co-facilitator on topics such as goal setting, writing strategies and professionalization. The remainder of the session is devoted to focused writing, with participants setting goals at the start and reporting progress at the end to foster accountability.

The program is open to full-time faculty of any rank. Faculty in the College of the Liberal Arts should continue to apply to the writing program offered within their respective unit.

Applicants must commit to attending all sessions and reserving the meeting time for research-related writing only.

More information, including the application link, is available on the Center for Faculty Development and Advancement website. Applications are due by Friday, Dec. 19.
