UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The College of Engineering will recognize 17 faculty and staff members who have given 25 years of service to Penn State in a ceremony at 2 p.m. on Sept. 14 in Kunkle Lounge in Hammond Building on the University Park campus.
This year's honorees are:
- Erin Ammerman, administrative support assistant in the Department of Biomedical Engineering;
- Richard Auhl, research associate in aerospace engineering;
- Wendy Belinc, administrative support assistant at the Radiation Science and Engineering Center;
- Bonnie Burris, staff assistant, Continuing and Distance Education;
- Edward De Meter, professor of industrial engineering and mechanical engineering;
- Kristen Fichthorn, Merrell Fenske Professor of Chemical Engineering and professor of physics;
- Lisa Fuoss, graduate admissions staff assistant in the Harold and Inge Marcus Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering;
- Judy Heltman, graduate programs assistant in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering;
- William Higgins, Distinguished Professor of Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering;
- Allen Homan, research technologist at the Thomas D. Larson Pennsylvania Transportation Institute;
- Horacio Perez-Blanco, professor of mechanical engineering;
- Martin Pietrucha, professor of civil engineering;
- Robert Reifsteck, engineering project manager at the Altoona Bus Research and Testing Center;
- Albert Segall, professor in the Department of Engineering Science and Mechanics;
- Victor Sparrow, professor and director of the Graduate Program in Acoustics;
- Karen Thal, program director assistant and records manager in the Graduate Program in Acoustics; and
- Robert Voigt, professor of industrial engineering.
As part of their 25-year award, each honoree is given a commemorative plaque, plus their choice of a Penn State captain's chair, rocking chair, or Penn State Elms Collection mantel clock.
