ABINGTON, Pa. — Although the Chaiken Center for Student Success is the hub for no-cost academic supports at Penn State Abington, students also find that its warm and welcoming staff that includes highly trained student workers keeps them coming back.
Annalise Smith, a student and peer success coach, said she loves the collaborative nature of the space.
“It’s very comfortable and safe. You can come in for anything, and we will provide you with a support system,” she said.
Dennis Millan, associate director of the year-old Chaiken Center, said data clearly demonstrates services such as tutoring and peer success coaching works.
“Ninety-seven percent of students who used the Chaiken Center returned to Abington the following semester,” he said.
