ABINGTON, Pa. — Penn State Abington student athlete Isabella Antosiewicz scored a front-row seat to the business of fashion this summer — interning where style meets strategy at the New Jersey office of Longchamp, a luxury French brand. The experience proved so valuable, she said, that she intends to explore sports marketing in 2026 to help define her career path.

“I have so many interests, but I want to go into either sports or fashion marketing. I plan on another internship next summer in the sports field to get a feel for what that the industry is like,” she said.

Antosiewicz, a business major focusing on marketing and management, learned about Longchamp’s internship program by networking. After successfully interviewing, she was assigned to human resources, where she developed onboarding and training materials that reflect the brand’s values and culture and assisted with special events and administrative tasks.

"My internship gave me corporate office experience. I learned how it was organized and managed and how they collaborate to make the company successful. Longchamp is a family-owned company, so seeing how everyone worked together was very beneficial,” she said.

The first-generation college student said she is grateful for the support from Longchamp's staff.

“There were two people who really mentored me and helped me throughout my internship. They gave me the tools I needed to get the work done and helped me with any questions I had,” she said.

After a busy summer at Longchamp and coaching softball, Antosiewicz is back at Abington for another jam-packed year.

Although softball is a spring sport, training never stops for this NCAA Division III infielder. She also serves as the president of the campus Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), which promotes community involvement and supports players on every team as they balance coursework, practices, training, clubs and jobs.

“The best part of being a student-athlete is the connection I have with other athletes and students. I know almost everyone in the Athletic Building, and I formed great friendships. We are a huge community, and we all come together with a common interest,” Antosiewicz said. “The most challenging part is making sure I take time for myself.”

She said she credits the athletics staff, including head softball coach Caitlyn Lihotz and Alex Patas, the assistant athletic trainer, for pushing her to excel in softball and in the classroom while also teaching her life lessons.

"Alex has been a mentor who helps me physically and mentally. She juggles everything so gracefully and is someone I look up to,” Antosiewicz said.

For her success on the field and in the classroom, she was named to the College Sports Communicators All-District team last spring. The infielder boasts a near-perfect GPA, and she enrolls in specific courses as a Schreyer Honors College Scholar, Penn State’s nationally ranked program for high-achieving students.

NCAA Division III athletics and the honors program are among the reasons the Central New Jersey resident enrolled at Abington and lived in the Lions Gate student apartments her first year, she said.

“I chose Penn State Abington because of the opportunities I get here while being close to home. The alumni network is amazing, and we get all the resources that University Park students receive,” Antosiewicz said. “My roommates from Lions Gate are some of my best friends.”

As she begins her third year at Abington and reflects on her college journey, Antosiewicz said she encourages other students to chase their goals but appreciate the ride.

"Take each day as it comes. College is a very hectic time, and but there is always good to come when you work hard for what you want," she said.
